Now lets talk about the real difference between the super markets and our street corner nadar shop or chettiyar shop.

The sector of people who is going for a window shopping at the Reliance or Big Bazaar are the real ones who are going to feel the pinch of FDI in retail segment. Even now we still go to our street corner Nadar shop for that one packet of bread or a dozen of eggs.

Necessity is different from luxury. Government introduction of pumping more funds in FDI is to get the revenue from the luxury life, not from the necessity, which inturn we will get foreign pumped stores pay taxes for our roads not from our pockets. I do agree that FDI in retail will give a slight pinch to the middle men (agent) who links between the farmer and the retail shop owners, but defenitely not to our farmers.

Did Indian hotels close down because of the entry of McDonalds, Dominos, Pizza Hut or KFC? We still love our local Sangeetha bhavan or Ratna Cafe. Did Indians stop drinking Chayas or Nimbu paani or Lassi because of Pepsi & Coke? Don’t we have strong Indian brands like Amul, Saffola, Parachute, Zandu Balm and countless others to withstand the entry of foreign players?

நஷ்டம் என்பது நம்முடைய சட்டைப்பையில் இருக்கும் பணத்தை எடுத்தால் மட்டுமே என்று நினைப்பவர்கள் ஒன்றை புரிந்து கொள்ள வேண்டும்.

இந்த 2 G அலைக்கற்றை இழப்பு நம் ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும் உண்டானதே. அலைக்கற்றை ஒன்றும் கருணாநிதி வீட்டு தோட்டத்திலே பறிக்கப்பட்ட மலர் அல்ல. கனிமொழி எடுத்து கொண்டார் என்று சொன்னால் எனக்கு நட்டம் இல்லை என்று சொல்வதற்கு இஸ்ரோ கருணாநிதி நடத்தும் கார்பொரேட் கம்பனியும் அல்ல.

இஸ்ரோ விடும் ஒவ்வொரு செயற்கை கோளும் இந்திய குடிமக்களின் வரிப்பணத்தில் உருவாக்கப்பட்டவை. நம்முடைய முதலீடு. நம் முதலீட்டில் உருவாக்கப்பட்ட செயற்கை கோளின் அலைவரிசைகளை விற்று கிடைக்கும் லாபத்தின் பங்கு, நலத்திட்டப்பணிகளுக்கு செலவிடப்படுவதன் மூலமாக நம்மை வந்தடைந்திருக்க வேண்டும்.

அனால் இடையில் சில கூட்டு சதிகளின் மூலமாக நமக்கு கிடைக்க வேண்டிய லாபத்தின் அளவு வெகுவாக குறைந்திருக்கிறது. கூட்டு சதி செய்தவர்கள் மூட்டைகளில் பணத்தை அள்ளிக்கொண்டு, சில்லறை காசுகளை நம்மை நோக்கி வீசி இருக்கிறார்கள்.

நாம் அனைவருமே பங்குதாரர் என்ற முறையில், நாம் நஷ்டப்பட்டே இருக்கிறோம். தமிழனுக்கு என்ன இழப்பு என்று கேள்வி கேட்பவர்கள் முதலில் இதை புரிந்து கொள்ள வேண்டும்.

குஜராத் அரசு சமீபத்தில் சிறந்த அரசுக்கான விருதை, சர்வதேச அரசாங்க விருது வழங்கும் கவுன்சிலிடமிருந்து பெற்றுள்ளது. இந்த கவுன்சில் குஜராத் அரசிற்கு உலகத்திலேயே இரண்டாவது(2 ) சிறந்த அரசு என்ற விருதை வழங்கி கவுரவித்துள்ளது..

இதற்கு ஒரு இந்தியராக சந்தோசப்படும் அதே வேளையில் தமிழர்களாக நாம் வெட்க்கப்படவேண்டியுள்ளது. ஏனென்றால்,

• குஜராத்தில் இலவசங்கள் கிடையாது, ஓட்டுக்கு பணம் கிடையாது.
• டாஸ்மாக் கிடையாது(மது விலக்கு அமல்படுத்தப்பட்ட மாநிலம்).
• கரண்ட் கட் கிடையாது.
• இத்தனைக்கும் மேலாக மத்திய அரசில் அங்கமோ, பங்கோ கிடையாது.

இதே நிலைதான் தற்போதைய பீகார் அரசுக்கும்…

குஜராத் அரசின் பத்து வருடத்திற்கு முந்தைய உலகவங்கியில் வாங்கப்பட்ட கடன் தொகை- ரூ.50,000 கோடிகள். (ராசா கொளையடித்ததை விட கொஞ்சம் கம்மிதான்!) ஆனால்… இன்று.. அதே குஜராத் அரசு உலகவங்கியில் கடன் தொகை செலுத்தியது போக கையிருப்பாக வைத்திருக்கும் தொகை 1 லட்சம் கோடிகள்.

இந்தியாவின் No-1 மாநிலம்(தொழில்,பொருளாதாரம்,மக்களின் வாழ்க்கை தரம், உள்கட்டமைப்பு, வருமானம், சட்டம்/ஒழுங்கு)

நாமும் No-1 தான் பிச்சை எடுத்து, இலவசங்களை வாங்கி, ஓட்டுக்கு பணம் வாங்கி, உழைத்து சாப்பிடாமல் தமிழனின் தன்மானத்தை விற்பதில்.

அடுத்த 20 வருடங்களில் குஜராத் ஒரு குட்டி சிங்கப்பூராக மாறப்போகிறது. நம் மாநிலத்தின் நிலை?? அடுத்த 5 ஆண்டுகளில் கருணாநிதியின் குடும்பம் நிஜ சிங்கப்பூரை விலைக்கு வாங்கிவிடும்.

இப்பொழுது நீங்கள் தேர்ந்தெடுக்க போவது மாநில அரசை நியமிக்கபோகும் சாதாரண தேர்தல் அல்ல.. மாறாக நம் தீர்ப்பு உலக மக்களால் திரும்பி பார்க்கப்பட வேண்டும். இது அநியாய, அராஜக ஆட்சிக்கு நாம் அளிக்கும் சம்மட்டி அடியாக இருக்க வேண்டும்.

இதில் நாம் தவறிழைத்தாலோ, அடிபணிந்தாலோ, ஏமாந்தாலோ ஒரு மிகப்பெரும் வரலாற்று பிழை செய்தவர்களாகி விடுவோம். உலகம் நம்மை காரி உமிழும்.

Now both DMK and AIADMK – are offering: 35 kg free rice every month to families below poverty line (DMK) or 20 kg rice to all ration card holders (AIADMK), 20 litres of free drinking water daily to poor families, mixers, grinders, fans, houses at subsidised cost (DMK) or free modern, green homes of 300 sq ft, costing Rs 1.8 lakh each to three lakh poor families (AIADMK), laptops, gold, 60,000 cows and sheep.

What a shame…!!! It is crystal clear from their statement that politicians have thought that they could easily fool people.

These freebies are really a big shame to a democratic country. Freebies , undoubtedly make people idle and it halts nation’s development.

People should understand that where the money comes from and how the expenses are compensated after the leaders get elected to power.

Out of above all, Election commission is taking real good steps to seal illegal activities. Lets join hands with them and bring our nation into lead. Salute to Election Commission!

The collapsed footbridge in New Delhi

With just 12 days to go for the Games, a new foot over-bridge near the main venue of the Games, Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, collapsed last evening, injuring 23 laborers, five of them critically.

The Games were meant to instill a sense of pride in Delhi, but many fed-up citizens are threatening to leave the city or take no part in the event.

The deadline for Delhi to be Games-ready was initially 31 March. After several extensions – first to 30 June, then to 31 July, then 31 August – it is now end-September.

Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dixit  said it would be the best the world has seen. But she has made a joke of our country.” With time fast running out, Mrs Dixit is seeking divine intervention. “It appears that Lord Indhra [the rain god] is unhappy with us,” she said at the weekend.

“I will appeal to him to bring some sunshine. If the rain stops and sun comes out, we will be able to complete the work by 10-15 September. Otherwise we will have to extend the deadline. “By the grace of god, we will be able to finish everything by 3 October.” If that does not happen, Delhi and India could be facing major embarrassment.

When one in three Indians lives below the poverty line and 40% of the hungry live in India, when 46% of India’s children and 55% of women are malnourished, does spending billions of dollars on a 12-day sports event build national pride or is it a matter of national shame? Are we really ready for such a show biz now?! Its a shame show rather a game show…

The supplement of the main paper carried a ‘talking’ advertisement of Volkswagen, which plays a recorded voice when a reader opens the page.
It came as a surprise to many and soon Twitter and Facebook were full of comments, from awe at something so “innovative” to despair at a “lame” attempt.

While it reminded some of the musical greeting cards by Archies — a craze in India in the early years of this decade, others felt the commercial ridiculed the experience of reading a newspaper.

But, whatever feedback the advertisers and the newspaper get from readers, it surely signifies a new era in Indian advertising — one in which companies have realised India’s potential as a lucrative fast-growth story, leading them to innovate and lavishly spend on advertising.

The emerging Indian middle-class is fast turning into a bunch of brand-conscious individuals, and having realised that, companies are opening up their wallets.

Now with the financial crisis mostly behind us, people can hope to see more innovation in advertising, as companies look for newer ways to lure consumers.

The question though is whether Indians will welcome such convergence of media, especially in advertising.

As noted humorist Anand Ramachandran wrote on his Twitter account, “Did TOI really think that their readers are so dumb, they can’t read? A print ad with a voice-over that won’t shut up? Where’s my hammer?”

Though sometimes I feel, people will remember the media innovations much more than the brand!

You will start getting cheque of 2k every month. Now this network slowly expands and expands.

Think new, create your own innovative ideas, do paper bags, home made chocolates, crushed and recycled paper gifts.

Hard work pays off. When someone tells you otherwise, beware the sales pitch for something “fast and easy” that’s about to come next.
